Member directory

Member directory software that helps members find the right people

Randel turns your member list into a directory members actually use: rich profiles, businesses, projects and needs, a Map view and suggested introductions, all inside your branded platform.

What is member directory software?

Member directory software lets members look each other up and understand who does what. A basic directory is a list of names and contact details. In Randel, the directory draws on the same member profile your team manages, and adds the Explore section for businesses, projects and needs, a Map view of where members are and AI suggestions for who to meet next.

What you can do with Randel

Rich member profiles

Each directory entry comes from the member profile, so members know who they are reaching out to before they do.

Explore

Members list their businesses, active projects and specific needs, and anyone in the community can browse them.

Map view

See where members are to find people nearby and plan regional or in-person networking.

Permissions

Permissions and groups control what members can see, so the directory fits your community's expectations.

AI-suggested introductions

Suggested matches based on profiles, interests and activity, each with an affinity score that explains the fit.

Referral tracking

Track the referrals, transactions and meetings that come out of introductions made through the directory.

From a static member list to a working member directory

Many communities already have a directory: a spreadsheet, a PDF sent once a year or a page on the website. The problem is rarely the list itself. It goes out of date, it only shows names and job titles, and it gives members no reason to act on what they find.

A useful member directory is connected to live member data and tells members what others offer and need. That is the difference between knowing someone is a member and knowing why you should talk to them.

How members use the directory, Explore and Map view together

The directory tools are most valuable when they feed each other. A typical path from discovery to a real connection looks like this:

  1. 1

    Look someone up

A member searches the directory and reads a profile before reaching out.

  2. 2

    Browse Explore

They check which businesses, projects and needs other members have posted.

  3. 3

    Check the Map view

They see who is nearby for a coffee or a regional meetup.

  4. 4

    Act on a suggestion

AI proposes an introduction with an affinity score explaining why the two members fit.

  5. 5

    Meet and follow up

The conversation continues in a meeting or a recurring check-in - Randel recommends running check-ins twice a month - and any resulting referral can be tracked.

Directory permissions and member trust

Members share more in a directory when they trust how it is used. Before launch, decide what the directory is for and who should see it. A professional association may want the whole membership to browse profiles, while a smaller private network may keep some details to specific groups.

In Randel these decisions are made with permissions and groups, the same settings that control the rest of the platform, so the directory follows the rules your community already applies elsewhere.

  • Which groups of members can browse the directory and Explore?
  • Which profile details should members see, and which are for admins only?
  • Should the Map view be part of the member experience?
  • How will you explain to members how their information is used?

Frequently asked questions

Who can see the member directory?

The directory lives inside your branded member platform, and access follows the permissions and groups you configure. Your organization decides who can browse it and what they see.

How is Explore different from the member directory?

The directory answers "who is in the community?". Explore answers "what is happening?": the businesses members run, the projects they are working on and the needs they have posted, so others can offer help or referrals.

How does AI decide which introductions to suggest?

It looks at member profiles, interests and activity inside the platform and shows an affinity score with each suggestion, so members and admins can see why a match was proposed. Randel uses AI for matchmaking and writing help, not for support.

Can we import our existing member list?

Yes. Data migration is available during implementation when needed, and your organization keeps ownership of the data.
